Framed 11 x 14 William H. Vanderbilt Ship Canvas Print
A beautiful and historic painting to reflect on the Vanderbilts? past.
George W. Vanderbilt?s interest in fine art may have first begun at home, as his father, William H. Vanderbilt, was a well-known collector of paintings. This painting showcases the actual merchant vessel ?William H. Vanderbilt? transporting lumber and iron ore on the Great Lakes. Sadly, the ship wrecked during a severe storm in 1883. The painting, which his father gave to George, captures the ship in all her glory. Our reproduction is printed on canvas and surrounded by a black and gilded frame, complete with hanging hardware.
