George W. Vanderbilt began collecting wines in the early 1900s. His love of wine passed down to his grandchildren, and in 1985, Biltmore Winery opened to the public. Vanderbilt's grandson William Cecil called the opening the most historic event since [his] grandfather had opened his estate to his family on Christmas Day ninety years earlier. Now, 35 years later, we are celebrating the anniversary with this limited release barrel-fermented and barrel-aged Chardonnay. Handcrafted from grapes grown in our vineyard, this buttery smooth wine celebrates our Winery's 35th Anniversary with notes of Meyer lemon and creamy custard. Raise a glass with us, and enjoy the smooth and crisp flavors of this special Chardonnay.
