With a long history as one of the grapes used in classic Bordeaux blends, Petit Verdot is gaining attention as a single varietal. Ours is handcrafted with fruit selected from partner vineyards in Washington. Dark ruby in color, it offers an intense bouquet of ripe plum, French vanilla, and caramel aromas along with hints of brambles. The plum notes carry through this medium-bodied wine into the palate along with flavors of red cherries and nice tannins.
Decant this food-friendly Petit Verdot to maximize its pairing potential with hearty fare like ribeye steak, lamb kebabs, "cowboy burgers" with barbecue sauce and bacon, or lighten it up with a classic French onion soup topped with Gruyere cheese. This wine is a great choice to accompany a selection of cheeses or to serve with a nice dinner at home.
